Doctors for Choice UK is sickened and appalled by the terrible news from the US today. 
The Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe V Wade strips women of their Constitutional right to abortion, a basic human right, and is set to cause immeasurable and devastating harm and suffering. We join calls for the UK government to strongly condemn this chilling decision and we stand in solidarity with those in the US who need abortions, activists and voluntary organisations, and our colleagues who provide abortions. 

Today, it is all too evident that hard-won rights cannot be taken for granted. As we stand in solidarity, here in the UK and across the world, we must also remain vigilant against anti-choice attempts to further restrict abortion rights, as well as intensifying our calls for the decriminalisation of abortion in the UK.
